Srihadi Soedarsono 

During the revolution, he fought in the Student's Army and was a member of SIM/Young Indonesian artists. In 1953, he enrolled in the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). There, he was influenced by the Cubist-inspired style of his Dutch teacher, Ries Mulder. He later pursue his Master's degree at Ohio State University in the United States where he studied from 1960-1962 on a Fulbright grant. His soujorn overseas influenced him to experiment in pure abstraction in the 1960s but he was soon to return to figuration.

 

He has received many achievement and awards in Indonesia and overseas. Since 1945, he has held numerous solo exhibitions in Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, China, Japan, India, Taipei, Korea, Australia, Bahrain, USA, Brazil, The Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland.
