Hoang, Tich-chu (b. Vietnam, 1912 - 2003)

 

He is one of the famous artists in this genre from the first generation of Vietnam's modern art, specializing in lacquer painting. He graduated from the Indochina Fine Arts College (1935-1941). He has paintings in the Fine Arts Museum of Vietnam, Moscow Museum of Oriental Arts and some in private collections.

 

He became a lecturer at the Fine Arts College of Vietnam from 1956 to 1969. In 1957 and 1960, he won the third prizes at the National Fine Arts Exhibitions, and was presented congratulatory certificates at the International Exhibitions in Germany, Poland and India. He became the head of the Hanoi Institute of Art Handicraft during 1969-1970.
