Heemskerck Van Beest, Jacob Eduard (b. Kampen, the Netherland, 1828 - the Hague, the Netherland, 1894) 



He started his professional career as a naval officer. Thereafter, he dedicated himself fully to painting, becoming a pupil of D. van Lokhorst. Painter, draughtsman and graphic artist of mainly marine subjects, who painted some views and coastal scenes depicting Indonesia. His work is in the collection of Netherlands Scheepvaartmuseum, Amsterdam.
