Handiwirman Sahputra (b. Bukittinggi, Indonesia, 1975)

A member of the Yogyakarta based artist collective, Jendela Group, together with Jumaldi Alfi, Yunizar, Rudi Mantofani and Yusra Martunus. Handiwirman graduated from the Indonesia Art Institute (ISI) in 1996 and currently lives and work in Yogyakarta. He explores the multilayered relationships between objects and representation. Handiwirman created his own visual language.

 

His works have been exhibited extensively in Indonesia, as well as in Vietnam and Japan.
