Haan, Willem Jacob (b. Amsterdam, the Netherland, 1913 - 1967) 

Self-taught artist, who came to Indonesia ca 1939. During World War II he was imprisoned and put in several camps by the Japanese. He started to paint in the early 1950s in a style developing into abstraction. Painter, draughtsman, sculptor and graphic artist.
