Rusli (b. Medan, Indonesia, 1922 - Jakarta, Indonesia, 2005)
Rusli lived in India from 1932 to 1938 where he studied painting, philosophy and literature at Santiniketan University. He was a teacher at Taman Siswa from 1945 to 1949, and became the head of art section in the Military School of the Department of Defence and Security during the Revolution. He was also a lecturer at Indonesian Academy of Fine Arts (ASRI), Yogyakarta from 1951 to 1956.
Rusli help to established the Seni Rupa Masyarakat (Art for People Association) and the founder of the Rusli Museum in Yogyakarta. His works have traveled for exhibitions to Brazil and Italy.
