Eland, Leonardus (b. Salatiga, Indonesia, 1884 - the Hague, the Netherlands, 1952) 

 

 

He is a self-taught artist who lived and worked in Indonesia until 1920, visiting Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, Bali and other islands. He participated in several exhibitions organized by the Bataviasche Kunstkring. He settled in The Hague in 1920, and later returned to Indonesia for a brief period in 1929 to prepare some huge Indonesian dioramas he made for several World Fairs. His work was selected for the International Colonial Exposition in Paris in 1931.
