He graduated from the Indonesian Art Institute (Institut Seni Indonesia/ISI), Yogyakarta. A founding member of the Jendela Art Group, Rudi Mantofani is a leading figure in Indonesian contemporary art, known for his ability to infuse the unexpected into his work. Mantofani juxtaposes humor and fantasy with realistic execution. He has participated in exhibitions and Biennales throughout the Indonesian region as well as Hong Kong and Singapore. He currently lives and works in Bali.
