A well known painter from Banyuwangi. From the age of twelve, he studied painting under Bani Amora in Genteng, Banyuwangi and later with Sucipto. He continued his studies at the SMSR Fine Art High School in Yogyakarta before moving to Bali in 1980. He joined Sanggar Pejeng for two years in 1980, a studio known for its adherence to realism under the guidance of Dullah. He has had several solo exhibitions in Indonesia and participated in group exhibitions throughout Indonesia. His technique is impasso and impressionistic style.
